GoDigital Media Group Adds Premium Film and Television Content to YouTube

SANTA MONICA, CA — (Marketwire – January 20, 2010) - GoDigital Media Group, a leading entertainment media distribution and marketing company, announced today that they have initiated delivery of over 800 titles of film & television content to the company’s channels on YouTube.

YouTube’s offering allows premium content partners to stream full-length films and television shows in exchange for ad-supported revenue. The move to full-length content comes as YouTube aims to compete with Hulu’s ever-growing user base and high-caliber content.

“We’re thrilled to be a part of YouTube’s new premium content offering,” said GoDigital’s CMO and co-founder Logan Mulvey. “The move to full-length makes a lot of sense for YouTube, and being that it is such a brand name, made it easy for us jump on board immediately.”

GoDigital’s delivery to YouTube includes selected feature films and television shows from well-known distributors Echo Bridge Entertainment and Vanguard Cinema. To facilitate the large batch delivery, GoDigital will be using a digital supply chain delivery and management platform called ContentBridge. GoDigital’s Director of Digital Distribution Mike Rubsamen will be heading up the delivery process.

“The ability for content owners to rapidly monetize catalogs of episodic and feature length content in a socially rich marketplace such as YouTube is very powerful,” said, Rubsamen. “Scalability has become increasingly important in a digital environment and without ContentBridge automating the delivery process, this endeavor might not be possible.”

GoDigital’s expertise includes distribution of feature film, television, and music content to hundreds of entertainment retailers including Netflix, iTunes, Hulu, and CinemaNow. Upcoming film releases include “Nickel Children” starring Tom Sizemore (“Saving Private Ryan”) and Jeremy Sisto (“Law & Order”), as well as “Chasing Ghosts” starring Michael Madsen (“Kill Bill”) and Academy Award nominee Gary Busey (“The Firm”). On the television side, GoDigital will be distributing multiple seasons of the ESPN series “American Dragster.”

Daniel Powter inks a digital marketing deal with GoDigital.

On Friday, May 8th a contract was signed between international success Daniel Powter and GoDigital for digital marketing.

In 2005, Powter watched his career skyrocket as its lead-off track, the irresistibly catchy “Bad Day,” became the most-played song in Europe that year, peaking at No. 1 on national airplay charts in the U.K., Germany, France, Holland, Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark, and Norway. It also hit No. 1 in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, and went Top 5 in Italy, Austria, Sweden, Brazil, Finland, and South Africa. The album was certified platinum in Japan, the U.K., Ireland, France, and Switzerland, and gold in Australia, Canada, Singapore, and Taiwan.

Encouraged by its stunning international success, Warner Bros. Records released Daniel Powter in the U.S., where it debuted on the Billboard Top 200 at No. 9 thanks to “Bad Day” — by now an unstoppable juggernaut that eventually became the best-selling digital single of all-time in the U.S., selling nearly 2.5 million downloads. “Bad Day” topped the Billboard Hot 100 for five consecutive weeks and earned Powter a 2007 Grammy Award nomination for “Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.” Three follow-up singles were released — “Free Loop,” “Jimmy Gets High,” and “Lie to Me” — eventually pushing global sales of Daniel Powter to more than 2.7 million copies. A fourth single, the live favorite “Love You Lately,” reached the Top 10 in several countries.

Powter is now preparing to release his new album “Under The Radar”.  Under the Radar is the sound of an artist stretching creatively, refining that voice, and coming into his own.

“As a singer-songwriter, I have a responsibility to communicate and connect with people,” Powter says, “and for me, melody speaks louder than words so that’s where I go with things, but I think a lot of people will relate to the lyrics. I just can’t wait for people to hear these new songs. I’m hungry to get back out on the road because I have this amazing, honest record to back me up!”

Song’s off the album are already being featured on “The Biggest Loser”.

Warner Bros. Records will be releasing Under the Radar in the U.S. in late 2009.
